I am buying a 20' Bennington with a SPS Package, can I lift the boat with straps in the cradle position?  I have a lot of pontoon boats around me that do so and all look fine with no damage, but I noticed someone from Bennington said no straps.  Any help would be great!

This is how we support our Bennington.

Bennington says no straps and I think it's because the straps will push in on the sides of the tubes.  My $.02

Never lift a pontoon or tritoon boat with straps.  Straps will squeeze the toons and eventually put a long dent in the toons.

They've got to be supported by a rack.  If you have an Express Tube, it can sit on two flat boards.  With the SPS, you need it sitting on three supports.  (Same goes with trailering.)

When I got my new 24SSLX (Express Tube) 2 years ago, I prefabbed a rack out of channel steel, angle iron and grade 8 bolts.  Mine is 11'x18' with 5 crossmembers.   I was able to carry the pieces down to the boathouse where I reassembled the rack.  It's worked out great.  Cost--$450.  To get a marine contractor to fabricate and deliver a rack on a barge (with a crane) costs $2,000+.
