Hey guys, Just bought a used 2006 2075FSI from a neighbor. 190 hours, looks new. I'll be needing your expertise here soon. Hope I made a good choice!

Okay.....top priority: a towing trailer (the boat was permanently lake docked before)

Boat: 2006 2075FSI (2000lbs)

Vehicle: 1998 Ford Explorer (Eddie Bower) 5.0L AWD, 6000lb capacity, towing package, receiver hitch, lights socket.

Towing: 2-5 miles, slight hills, lake launch ramp

Used is ok.

Single axle or double axle? Braking system?

How do I shop for the right trailer? Thanks!

Congratulations

Start with a conversation with your dealer, they should be able to spec out what you need, then it's off to the Internet!

Congrats on the boat. Looks super clean! I prefer a float on trailer. As for brakes check your local/state laws. Where I am anything over 3000 lbs has to have them.

That looks to be in beautiful condition, congrats!

The boat is 2000# +, the trailer is another ~1000 #, plus fuel, gear, etc you're easily over 3000# gross. I'd go with a dual axle bunk type trailer with brakes on at least one axle. Check with some dealers to see who supplies pontoon trailers locally as these guys tend to be very regional due to shipping costs.

I think TomS has it nailed.

Enjoy the boat.

Welcome! Happy boating.

Welcome to the family. Nice ride!!

Nice, looking boat! Quality never goes out of style. And if you are really plan on using only around the community as previously posted. I would definitely get a float on trailer, single or double axle, and no brakes. With the weight of that boat, you really won't need to have brakes on the trailer. And brakes always are the most problematic part of a boat trailer.Because of the wet dry cycle and sit time of the trailer, brakes tend to lock up from rust. BUT,if you do want to tow longer distances, brakes would be nice. Enjoy your find this summer.
