Hey all, just got be great news our 2375GCW has arrived at the dealership. Next step will be taking them a check and scheduling delivery date.

Are there any questions or things to ask dealer when going in and signing final paperwork and bringing a check? I'm assuming it will still be shrink wrapped from delivery from factory, do dealers typically let you look at your boat at thus point? Guess I could call and ask this, was just curious what others experiences have been.

Once again this forum is awesome, have learned so much fom a lot of you on here.

Mine was still wrapped ,there was a zippered cut out at the port side gate . Dealer opened it for me ,but there was nothing to see ,still had to be prepped .

And Remember it is a 7 Year Warranty

But you have to register your boat on the club website to get the extra 2 years.

Well, the excitement has turned into FRUSTRATION......Learned today from salesman, upon checking the boat out, that they ordered me the stern lounge instead of co captain chair. To say I'm pretty pissed is understatement. Salesman apologized and took full responsibility; and is getting with the owner of dealership and bennington to see if a rushed re-order can be done. I will not settle for what we didn't want. I do realize that mistakes happen, and they seem sincere to try to rectify the problem, but I'm wondering what can actually be done besides wait for new order. Wanted boat in water by 5/17, guess that ain't happening.....

Any suggestions from others.......

Sorry to hear that. A big dealer with a lot of production slots can make probably something good happen. Wait to see what they can do and go from there. Unfortunately it's a crazy busy time at the factory.

To find a Sales Rep who is honest

Anyone who takes RESPONSIBILITY is a rarity in today's society

I am not a huge fan of Dealerships

But have to say ....

Looks Like You Have A Reputable One

Did you go and check the boat out. Maybe visit and just "try" it and see if you don't mind the layout. Possibly work a discount if you'll accept it. I like co captains chairs, but then you are limited to one person vs. the lounge for more seating.

If you are deadset on the chair, best case scenario is probably at least 4 weeks. What type of flooring? Maybe they could order the correct parts and swap out when they come in. If carpet, as long as the screws did not pull runs in it, it probably wouldn't be that hard to do. If any other flooring, it's probably not feasible.

At least the dealer is being upstanding, admitting fault, and trying to rectify it. Do they have a "demo" to possibly loan you for awhile so you can get out? Keep us updated on the outcome.

I would aim for a discount and a loaner boat. Perhaps they can upgrade you to the rcw for free or up the hp on your motor. To miss a chunk of the summer is a big deal.

Tell them you'll take it with a 150 on it for the same $.

This is what came in correct ?

I'm curious how this could happen.

My dealer send me the build sheet before they sent it to Bennington for my approval.  I made a change, he updated it and sent it back to me for my approval.

If your dealer is not doing this, I question how good of dealer they really are.

Fwiw I love my Chaise Lounge Upgrade.

Yes Jack, that is correct. And thanks all for the encouraging statements. Yes the Stern lounge is a possibility(last case) but wife and I like how much more open the floor plan feels with co-captains. As far as the build sheet, yes went over, and thought it was correct, I didn't nor did salesman (which he should've) catch the "stern lounge" instead the "co-captains". Being new at buying a boat, I feel that my salesman let me down on that aspect. Like I said, for what it is worth, they are taking full responsibility and are seeing what can be done at this point. I should hear back today with answer on new order. I highly doubt that they would upgrade me to a 150hp, I wil try to press the issue and get whatever I can. But at same time, I just want the boat that we ordered. Will keep everyone updated.

Get what you and your wife want .If you dont you will never be happy .

An extra month may seem like a long time now ,it will be even longer in the end if you dont like it .

I'm sure your dealer will take care of you some way .Oil changes ,storage ,perhaps an extended warranty on your motor .

I have the same dealer as Fastmnstealth and it was done this way for me also. Went through the build sheet and made sure everything is correct.

Update: oops my bad didn't see that they did go through the build sheet..

There are a lot of boats out in the field. They might be able to do a dealer swap with another dealer that has that boat in stock? I have swapped boats with other dealers before it has always worked out well.

Sorry, but I would have to slightly disagree with this statement. I deal with this day in and day out. Salespeople make mistakes, we are human, and that is the whole reason we ask for a sign off. The BIG DIFFERENCE is how we handle it after the fact. I made a mistake on the quote, you made a mistake signing it.

I have two options. You eat it or I eat it. I have found out in 25 plus years of sales, it's much better long term for me to eat crow and move on.

I will let you know you signed for it, but I will do everything in my power to make it right. 90% of the time, a discounted price work,. 10% it cost me some money (short term) as I usually sell it to someone else and at least get my cost out of it. But in the end, I made a angry customer happy and they will tell 10 people, but if I PI** them off, they will tell 100 people.  ;)

I'm still a little confused. Did Bennington change the terminology of the seating? On my boat "stern lounge upgrade" was adding padding and speakers to the rear loungers. "Chaise lounge upgrade", replaced the Co captains chair with a lounger.
