Hi guys... I posted this on another board, but I'm always interested in getting as much feed back as I can on a product... any of you ever used or heard of PRI-G It's a fuel stabilizer and ethanol treatment that I really hadn't heard too much about. However I contacted thier customer service dept. and the rep sent me several links with info about their product. I've included those attachments with this post. ...one of those attachments does a comparison between their product, stabil marine and startron...curious what you think of this product.. I do know it's a bit expensive... around 25 to 30 bucks (not including shipping ) for a 16 oz bottle... but one tank of bad / old gas with ethanol can cause a lot more damage than 30 dollars...

This ad sounds amazingly close to soliciting. If this were your first post, I would pull it. Since it is not, I will leave it and see if you get any feedback. However, other moderators may overrule me and I have no problem with that as well.

My personal thought are to stay as far away from ethanol as you can until the time comes for there to be no other choice. After that, I have no problem with the Stabil and Seafoam producs I have used.

I assure you this was not a solicitation what so ever... simply trying to get an education from more experienced boaters concerning fuel additives... I am in no way associated with this company or any other company that has products related to the marine industry.

ARM7333: Roland was just trying to share info, and he was upfront when he said he posted this stuff on another much larger boating website.

After reading the info on this product, it appears to be much more beneficial than Stabil or other like products. And it's also very inexpensive. Pri-G mostly sells to industrial users in bulk, and their product is high tech.

The info is there for you to read, and you are free to form your own opinion.

Thanks, Roland!

Appreciate the info Bill

Excellent info from Mercury Marine. Would read again.

I have to say, I'm still painfully on the fence about using this forum as a vehicle for a company's "fact" sheets.

I think as long as it's a "for your info only" post and you can take what you want from reading the info that is available via any google search, I'm ok with it. If it were to cross the line of becoming a recommendation for sales, then I'd step in ........

This is a great source of information. Being a newer boater, I am curious what I should do now that I have 55 gallons of fuel sitting in my gas tank. I'm not even sure if the gas that was put in by the dealer is ethanol free or not. I would hope so but will have to check. Since I am only a weekend boater, I assume I should add the appropriate amount of marine sta-bil or seafoam (still need to read up on that one and make sure it will cover oxidation, etc.). I also am not sure if my motor comes with a water separator inline. I'll have to check with the dealer on that too. Uggh, this new boat stuff is intimidating. I never had a problem with my old 40 hp 2-stroke Mariner but I want to take damn good care of this engine. Any thoughts?

Seafoam is a internal cleaner. Stabil is a fuel stabilizer. I use both in the boat and anything else I have with an engine that sits for any length of time ( mower, pressure washer, trimmer, blower, etc.).
