Has any used this type of quick cover that has corner straps for keeping while docked overnight or just a few days ? We dock our boat for a few days on the water and then pull it out for storage and thought this would be easier than the mooring cover to keep things clean and birds off the seats. just looking for input before buying.quick cover.jpg

Hi there. There is an extensive thread that started last year. Click the link below:

This cover has been brought up a few times . You can do a search in the upper right corner.

I'm down in FL and it just so happens that I met with a boat upholsterer today on a non Bennington boat. I'm having all of the cushions replaced.

He showed me a cover that he makes for short term storage instead of hauling out the big mooring cover.

Basically it's a Sunbrella fabric that attaches to the snaps on the outside of the boat (the same snaps the mooring cover uses). The fabric then folds over inside the boat and covering the seat cushions. It hangs down about 4" past the bottom of the cushions. All along the bottom edge of the cover he rolls a tube which is about 1 1/2" in diameter.

He fills this tube with sand to weight down the bottom edge of the cover.

It's easy to store, you just roll it up. It keeps the sun, leaves and bird poop off of the seats.

On a Bennington it would be a cinch to make with the Benny clips instead of the snaps. I'm thinking of doing this on the FL Boat. Probably not my Bennington up north though because I have a canopy on my lift which takes care of the sun bird poop, and most of the leaves.

Thanks I took a look at the Blue Sky thread and it seem they are easy to use but pretty expensive at $800 for an XL, my image above was of of the - Quick Boat Cover brand priced at $189, reasonable for a light weight cover but only available in Slate Blue. I went ahead and order one and will share my experience soon.

Hi @Jerryrig , I am looking for a similar solution. How is that Quick Boat Cover working out for you? just curious.

The interest in this Quick Cover brings to light a problem that the manufacturers have not addressed. Covered boat lifts also have issues. Most people when covering their boat use a process based on the their first attempt just faster. Member SEMPERF18387 has created a video showing a well thought out process.
