In pictures of the ladder on 2026 Benningtons, sometimes they are silver and sometimes black. Does anyone know if it determined by whether the boat has the black rub rail?

Mine is an after market Lillipad I chose the plain aluminum .
Is it possibly black if you order the Blackout package ?
Does it mention anything on the Bennington build site?

Just got this from the build site .
"Bennington's Blackout Luxe Package includes blacked-out rails, deck trim, deck skirt, and an aluminum bimini frame and ladder when applicable. Bennington's Chrome Logo pairs well with the Blackout Luxe Package and gives your boat a striking luxury sport car feel."

Okay that explains it - thanks!

Here is my 2025 Bennington with black ladder and silver handles. Got blackout package and thought handles should be black. Dealer said Bennington told them that was correct. Other picture is a 2023 or 2024 Bentley the dealer had in their showroom.

Thy both look sharp to me. The silver handles go with your ski / tow bar. With the silver handles, the ski / tow bar should also be black. Just my 2 cents, but I like the combination.
On the other hand, seems that the ladder should be consistent with all one finish.

I have a 2025 LXSSB with blackout package and mine is same as yours, silver handles.

Yeah I was asking because I've seen some pictures where the deck rail handles are black like the ladder, but now that I tried to find one it seems like most with a black ladder have silver handrails.

I'm guessing because even with black rub rails, etc, the rear gate is still silver so maybe they think it matches the look better.

But check out this still from a Kelly's Port QX video where the handles are black ('24 model):

Yeah, maybe that layout with the black speaker area gets the black hand rails matching the two?

I suspect the constant use of the handrails and oils from the hands (vs the steps) = faster wear of the black coating, more claims, and elimination of the option? Best guess.

I would guarantee this is/was an issue. Even our black Bimini rails show some wear. I can only imagine what wedding bands/rings would do to the ladder. The black ain’t deep.

I would cover it. That area of the boat gets a ton of water spray while underway. And when you come off plane, there always seems to be a wake that hits you from the rear.

Jack - were the mounting screws bolt through, I don't see any in the cutout? YES, I would cover that up!!!!

The dealer mounted the ladder. But yes they bolt through .
I went back and measured the hole. It's 6 1/4 X 11 1/4 . My nephews got some aluminum. I'll seal it and get some stainless screws .

you will love the ladder. Our 2nd year and everybody loves ii and other boaters ask about it.
