RePowering

Hi Everyone, Doing a repower on my 2275 GCW twin log pontoon. Switching from a 2011 Evinrude Etec 115 HO to a new 150 Mecury 4 stroke. Any idea on which prop works best in the aluminum series? Dealer is thinking a 4 blade, but Mercury tells me a 3 blade would work best. I’m thinking a Black Max prop 15.3 x 15 will put the rpms at the right spot close to 5800. Mercury says that’s my best bet. Any thoughts?
Hello we bought our 2006 Bennington 2275 with a 90 etec and want to repower with a 2021 merc 115 do you know what all would need to be changed by chance?

Your best information will be from the dealer installing the Mercury. When I switched out engines, only the trim gauge was a problem. All else worked out great.

Agree. Talk to the dealer. My guess is you may need to change up some controls & throttle as well going from a ‘06 etec to a ‘21 Mercury. I don’t see rigging being comparable, but hopefully I am wrong.

When we bought a center console boat that was pre-rigged for a Mercury motor but we wanted a Johnson motor, the Binnacle control, wiring harness, etc all need to be removed from Mercury controls to the Johnson controls. Gauges didn't matter except for trim. that had to be swapped out. Steering cables were ok but throttle cables needed to be swapped too.
