We had a lift for 2 seasons before switching to Sea Legs. That first year I bumped into our canopy with my bimini up a couple times - embarrassing. I feel you there!Even at one or two MPH, with the moving mass of a 3000 pound boat/raised bimini against a Shore Station canopy, something will be bent. In our experience, the bimini was bent but also, and most expensively, the frame/fence was pulled up. Lowering the bimini is often forgotten in the arrival and alignment process.
However, we never even put so much as a scratch on it. Nothing bent, dinged, damaged, nada. Also, I have the electric power bimini, which I LOVE, but certainly doesn’t seem as robust as Bennington’s normal bimini.
Maybe its improved build quality or strength on a Bennington vs. your Barletta? Not sure, just thinking aloud on this one based on my personal experience in a similar situation.
