The Bennington boat cover has heated the vinyl on the seat tops causing them to become brittle and crack, according to the people who will repair the seat. I need to remove a seat at a time to have it repaired. This Tritoon has the aluminum undercover and I cannot see if the seats are through bolted or screwed. Does anyone have experience with the seats to know? Next question is once I have the seat tops repaired do I need to place something to insulate the boat cover from the seat tops? I was thinking perhaps time is the culprit not the heated black boat cover. Thank you for your input definitely needed.

You should not need the post for repair ,you can unscrew it from the post . Under the seat bottom there is a round handle screw .

Jack I am trying to remove the bench seats from the deck to take in for repair of the vinyl.

In my experience (3 different Bennington's), bench seats are attached to the deck from the top with stainless steel wood screws. Flip open the seats and look for the screw heads. They are typically hidden near the rear of the rotomolded seat bases.

They may also have screws coming into the backs through the side rails.

I am I. The process of removing my benches for reupholstering. I do see the screws with washers on the floor. I am also taking pictures cuz I have two batteries I. One co part ent for the trolling motor.

I hope you can tell me when I get my seats back should I use the same holes? Larger screws? Hate to put more holes in the deck or do I put some sort of sealer in those holes and drill new ones? Any help would be appreciated thanks. I see you e done this a few times

Don't over think this. Line the seat up carefully into its original position. Start the screw through the original hole in the rotomolded base and drive it home with an impact driver. (Don't overdrive the screw.). You may or may not hit the original hole in the deck below the seat base. It really doesn't matter. You do not have to put any kind of sealer in the holes.
