THE COUNTDOWN BEGINS

Well, the boat went right back to the dealership. Boat was fine, but Sea Legs were dead. I did what I could at the launch. Everything was connected and fine. They took it back to dealership, they checked batteries, wires, fuses, volt meter to insure power was at least getting to the Sea Legs motor/pump….it all checked out. Networked with Sea Legs technician on the phone, but they were stumped after all the above were checked and said they’d need to come out and see if something went bad somewhere in the unit.

So now we’ll be waiting on a Sea Legs technician to get out to the dealership. Next visit is scheduled for two weeks, but they said they were going to try to get them out sooner and see if they can figure out what’s up. Fingers crossed a) its not too pricey to repair and b) it doesn’t take too long. I can stomach missing Memorial Day weekend, but by Mid-June when the May Flies are gone, we’re gonna want to boat.

Dock will be waiting….
FYI: our dock is the one on the right with the Green and White dock lights. Our neighbors is immediately to the left in the blue and white lights.

Sea Legs repaired (motor AND remote box…ouch!). They surprised me with a call and boat drop off at the end of the day today. Countdown over for me too. Always great having it back dockside again. Mom & step dad are coming up for Memorial Day, so it will be nice to be able to treat them to some time on the lake.

Got the call from our dealer today. Drop the boat in the water April 1st.
Told them to put a new battery in. This would be year 10 (2017 purchase) !!!!
Got our moneys worth on that battery! ;)

Unfortunatley ,my launch date is May 8th . "IF" the ice is out .
In between now and then I am having the Hull Jacket applied and a Lilli Pad Ladder installed .
I tried a Lilli Pad ladder at my dealers showroom last week ,what a difference .

Honestly…I have no sympathy for stupid when it comes to this kind of thing. Good grief. Know the lake ice conditions or stay off. This includes “no ice is 100% safe”, so know the nuances of the lake and where its weak spots are going to be. And although I am okay with snowmobiling and SxS riding on lakes when you look into the ice situation. Vehicles bring an entire different level of conditions to be safe.

Well…anyway…this dude is going to have some big bills now. Dope!

Getting close now. Stopped by my dealer and our boat is set to arrive third week of April, ready for delivery first weekend in May. We usually open the cottage Victoria Day (3rd weekend in May) but will have to get the dock and lifts in early this year. Can’t wait

Its May 8th and No Launch . Ice is out but the water level is still too high .
My Lillipad Ladder has been installed ,but my Hull Jacket application was moved back to May 19th .
Hopefully the water will recede within the next 2 weeks

First the good ,Hull Jacket is being applied right now . The person from S-G Marine doing the application ,said it should last 7-10 years . I plan on taking some pics later in the week .
Now the bad , I was in Cheboygan earlier today , water levels at the damn are down ,but the lakes and rivers are not . I went to our marina yesterday and there is not much difference at all ,and with the rain we got yesterday ,its not probably about the same as two weeks ago .

Don’t feel bad. Ours was dropped in water on April 1st and still have not been out. EVERY weekend has either been cold, dreary or rain. Looks like another cold rain out this holiday weekend.

I just got an email from our HOA, that our marina will be closed until at least May 29th.
Ill be surprised if anyone is in before the 4th of July .

Dredging is done. According to our neighbor, he took his boat out yesterday and there is 4 feet of water in the mouth of the channel into the Bay. But most importantly, our dock got stained (90% done and will be finished tomorrow) along with our deck, so I don't have to wait on them to put boat in.

Sadly, Memorial day weekend looks like another bust in the thumb of Michigan. High 58 on Friday and 30% of rain, high 58 and 70% chance of rain on Saturday, 67 on Sunday with 30% chance of rain, and Monday is 71 with no rain.

We had some wicked storms on Tuesday at the cottage. I haven't see a dust / rain storm like this in my 55 years of existence.

Welcome to Michigan Spring weather. HAAHAHAHA

My wife wanted to go downstate to visit here sister this weekend , since the weather is supposed to be lousy here and no boating .
But since the weather will be the same there and no boating , we are staying home .
