Thanks Timdelta! It was cut on a CNC waterjet machine out of .75" HDPE King Starboard. What is it made from and how is it made? Looks really nice, very professional. Love it!!
When are you taking order? Would LOVE to see some pictures of your brackets also when done - excellent job! Best I have seen.I Still need to get the complete install done. This will have latches and a gas shock for easy access when it’s complete but gives an idea of the coverage over the well.
The 3/4 is plenty good for us - almost zero flex standing on itThe 3/4 starboard is plenty stiff to walk on or would the 1 inch be better?
Timdelta, after putting two people on the cover and thinking about your comment, we measured the deflection and had about 1/2 inch. I may add a U channel or I beam across the cover underneath to add some strength if needed after the fact. 1" may be better if you can source it.Thank you. Now I need to get my boat.
Thanks, it was a fun project!Great job on that cover TTT! Looks solid and professional!
Hello Minnesota - did you ever get your design built, installed and tested? I searched your posts and could not find any update. Particularly interested in pictures related to the structure. Thank you!!I have worked on this for a while and finally had a cover made locally out of black .75" Starboard HDPE for mine. I have yet to get it installed but I plan to use black angle metal for support, I have a stainless steel piano hinge, some flush latches and a gas shock to prop it up if needed. I did cut out specifically for the engine (Evinrude G2) which I can limit for the tilt height through the electronics.
This is the design I ended up with but did not do the bevels in the slots. My local waterjet company said he would maybe entertain more of these if CAD files can be sent. I used a program called SketchUp (free on the web 3D design) to make my models and exported them as CAD files.
