Upgrade Garmin GPS?

Looking for suggestions for a GPS replacement my factory unit (Garmin) is about to die. Would like something a little bigger with decent GPS tracking.

What existing model do you have and are you willing to modify for install?

I have nothing but good things to say about humminbird helix series fish finders with their gps and navigation abilities especially when used with the lakemasters map programs. The accuracy and detail ive seen with mine is superb and dont think I’ll have a boat without it ever again.

You can plot courses , mark waypoints , track routes and retrace those steps to the foot in fog/darkness , highlight shallow water , etc. Spend a little YouTube time looking them up to see what they can do and what they look like.

I replaced mine with a little bigger Garmin. It’s great for navigation and depth.
