Wire question

Took boat from storage today. Everything looks good and runs good. Looked under the console and notices this loose blue wire not connected. Any ideas???

Is the end without a wire crimped? If not it could have been used as a cap and never had another wire?

I am not sure, there should be two crimps, one for each wire, I think.

I believe the blue wires are for lighting things like the courtesy light and backlights on the switches. You may want to follw that back to the source and verify it's part of that group. It may not have ever been hooked up to anything like big shooter said. Is there a switch on that side of your console that does not light up now with nav / anc lights on?

Looks like blue coming from stereo harness so I say it’s the amp signal wire.
Easy way to cap a wire. I’ve done that already.

Crimped on only 1 side suggests an extra / unused wire for something - which will required back-tracing.

Definitely looks like amp signal wire. I installed 2 amps in mine and that's the wire I attached to to get the signal to the first amp.

Could be someone simply used the butt splice as wire cap since only one side looks crimped? Might have been wrapped in another harness and just came loose from the bundle. Some amps don’t need the turn on signal.

Agree with others , appears to be Amp signal wire
