There shouldn't any reason why it couldn't be used in both.

I use Ring Free+ and Starbrite Startron in both my boat (2000 Yamaha OX66 150HP) and pontoon (2021 Yamaha F115B). I also use these same additives for lawn mowers and lawn tractors. The only vehicles I don't use them in are road vehicles.
For both water craft I use Starbrite's PRO Star Gasoline Stabilizer (used to be called Easy To Store/Easy To Start) each fall, as a fogging option for fuel-injected engines. I've yet to have any fuel issue the next spring.

Sure, but there are numerous less expensive ring and top end products. One that has been around for decades is Marvel Mystery Oil. I've used at various times in about everything , except road vehicles. It can be used in both the oil and fuel.
