The Garmin 301c and 301dv profess to be the exact same dimensions as the Garmin 100. I'd imagine this makes the install easier? Why would you get the "dv" option unless you plan on replacing the transducer and re-running the wire? "Dv" means DownVu and I don't think that works with the stock...
I wanted to replace the Garmin 100 with something a little nicer as well. The black & white screen just doesn't look elegant or modern. I'm going with the Garmin 301c. It's the exact same shape as the 100 so no cutting into the dash, and it uses the same transducer.
Cwag911 - I'm not near the boat now - but I was trying to figure that out last night and it appears that maybe tapping the power button toggles the backlight on and off? I couldn't find anything in the settings menu
You guys are awesome for posting this. I'm a new 2550RBR owner, and I don't think the Garmin 95 has a backlight so you can't see it at night (When I need it the most to make sure I didn't Wagner into shallow water). I'm going to go after a 431S, as it appears to be visible at night AND have GOD
Richard - I'm on lake Travis with a 2550RBR and have the same switch setup with the fridge you have, and the same question! I actually found two AC power cords to make things more confusing: one the pulls out next to the fridge / battery switch, and another behind the fridge. I can't figure...
