Handy hints, gadgets, products, gizmos & ideas...

You may want to add a few classic fenders or bumpers in the middle, tied-off from the railing. I use the sentry fenders on the cleats to protect the decks and rub rails where it's difficut to get a classic fender tied high enough to protect the deck.

    NMEA 2000 Install help

Do you have a Simrad or something similar to facilitate the communication? The backbone is basically a T connection between power and cables for instruments to communicate with each other. I have one by the battery and some under the helm but just floating in the air.

    Bumpers for new L21

BB, I have used the Mission Sentry fenders on my Benny at the cleats for years without issue. They're a more expensive option but think they work the best on the cleats, staying in place right at the rub rails where I need them, not so well for anywhere else on the boat. I do also use the...

New Boat Owner - Boat Lift Questions

I dont have one but FLOE makes lifts with canopies that lift up for boats with towers (wake boats). I have seen them all over MN and look to be a great option, although the price I'm sure is up there...

    Trailer tire blowout

I just got a new truck and received tire pressure and temp sensors with it for a trailer. Had four of them installed in the boat trailer and hope to avoid such an event, sounds like it may not have made a difference for this one though! I had a similar event way back on walleye opener in MN...

    Rod Holder recommendation

I use the Railblaza mounts and rod holdersand I do believe they have a proprietary star size. The rod holders they have are very secure for me, freshwater trolling though... They have a nice low-profile unlike the Scotty and allow the cover to go over them. I would maybe be concerned about...

    Rod Holder recommendation

I installed two, stainless steel 4-tube rod holder racks on the panels behind the driver seat. One behind the gate and one in front of the gate. It's hard to see in the photos but they work great for us. They're out of the way and convenient for access. The only thing I need to do is move a...

    Certainly some Truth here.....

Definitely a spot you don’t want to get disoriented! The payoff of having a panorama view would be worth it, except for the whole crashing part

    Certainly some Truth here.....

This was early Sept of last year. We had some friends up for the weekend with their young girls and were playing board games, stepped out on the deck to grab a bev from the cooler and the green haze in the northern sky was just above the tree-line. We grabbed every blanket possible and went to...

    Simrad GO 7 PC interface?

Tim, it may depend on what map card you have in your Simrad. I know you can link your Simrad via wifi on your phone or similar and dispaly your Simrad screen using the Simrad app. If you have a Navionics map and the Navionics Boating app, you should be able to plot a course through your...
