Picked up a new "float-on" trailer and need to know what width to set the bunks. I measured 77" center of tube to center of tube. Is this correct?? Dealer told me 78 1/2. I'm confused... thanks for any help...
I posted about this issue a few months ago. I have the exact same boat. Bennington will work with you. Very impressed with the outcome. Class act. I will buy my 3rd pontoon from them when the time comes.
As stated in another post, that's exactly what I did. You can see the water rush up from the tubes and hit directly on the tank. It also looks like the back of the tank is in the water possibly causing turbulance and prop washout. You can actually feel the boat slow down and speed per water...
I pretty sure it's causing more than 4 mph worth of drag. As I watched from the bow with my head hanging over the edge (I know...I know.. illegal) the water rushes up from the tubes and is forced to the center of the boat right where the tank is positioned. I believe this causes the drag and...
To answer your question, ride quality is pretty bad unless speed is slow enough to keep the tank out of the water. The boat will not even come close to 20mph ....more like 16-17@ WOT with a little trim. This is my second Bennington R series. The last was a 2007 2250 RL with a 75 Yamaha and it...
Spinzone... the boat you are reffering to is mine and im pretty sure it was set up correctly. Its just a template with locating holes to drill transom. The weight of the boat is not much different than a standard seating option boat. I question the placement and/or the design of the tank...
It is the 33 gallon tank mounted to the underside of the deck just forward of the transom. Its basically a square box that hangs approximately 10" down 3-4 ft in length. Ill try to post pics when i get home.
I just received my new toon. It is a 2250 RCL twin tube, which means it gets the center mounted gas tank. The tank design has a very blunt nose that does not cut through water very well. My boat will only run about 16-17 mph top speed with a 90 hp Yamaha and every little ripple on the lake...
