Acid stains on aluminum trim

I acid washed my pontoons and made a total mess of it. I got overspray on my aluminum trim which dried as white spots. I have been attempting to remove them by scrubbing with aluminum polish. It is very difficult but seems to remove them, however many become bare spots because the acid ate trough the coating whatever that is?
Is there something that I could spray the aluminum trim with that will cover these bare spots? Any and all suggestions will surely be appreciated. I just can't leave it like it is.
Also any suggestions to remove the remaining white spots would be very helpful.
Thank You in advance for your suggestions.

You’ve taken off the anodized portion. See if anyone locally does anodization. I think MrG did something with aluminum parts a while back. Have to search and see if I can find it.

has anyone removed the aluminum trim from their boat? Where do I begin? looks like it is bolted on through the deck, is that right?
