Battery Tender

I use those type for my jet skis and dirt bikes.  I think they work fine for short term battery storage.  I put a ProMariner Pro Elite on my Benny.  I've used them on my wakeboard and SW boats as well.  The benefit of a better charger is if left on for a long period it goes through a battery conditioning program once a month and desulfates the battery.

We pull our battery and store it here at the house instead of leaving it in the boat......less chance of it walking away if you know what I mean.   About once a month I plug in the battery tender and put a full charge on the battery then unplug it.  I had a bad experience using one of these constantly on a motorcycle battery over the winter (5 months long).  It basically cooked the sealed battery to the point it would no longer take a charge no matter what I did to it.

The charger I have:

Hawk, Great choice, think Amazon instead of Deltran directly.

Ebay is even better.

I have the Tender Jr. and find it to be plenty adequate for keeping batteries conditioned over the winter.
