New owner, first Bennington.  Factory cover has many-foot-long fabric strap attached near its stern.  What's it's purpose?
 
I have a many foot long strap... hook to side A and then over the bimini and hook to side B to add lift to the rear of the cover to help with water drainage (prevent pooling of water on the rear of the cover)
 
Assuming you bought the boat new...Take the strap back to your dealer and hit him with it. They should explain things like this to you.

Funny you should say that. I asked my dealer about that strap after purchase. he didn't know, but said he would find out. They surely don't know everything about those boats they sell, but it would be nice if they could answer simple questions like that. I found out on line. Use my strap every time I put the cover on it.
 
Using the strap prevents pooling in the area, I always use it as well
 
Easy to use, every time. 
 
Its a must for me .
