Masters 2014

Damn Steve. Let's get some back story here! Photos would be cool too. I wouldn't want to play Augusta simply out of respect. Anyone with my golf game should not even think of bringing their clubs within 50 miles of the course. Beautiful beautiful course.

At the PGA golf tournaments I have attended they are very strict about no picture taking.  At the open last fall there were perhaps 8 - 10 security guys following each of the bigger name golfers, they wore vests that said "camera patrol" and they scanned the crowd watching for someone taking a picture.  If they saw you taking a picture they gave you a stern warning but I did see them grab a guy that was using his camera phone and when he denied it and he became belligerent they physically took his phone, opened it saw the picture and escorted him out.  Not really sure why such a big deal, my iphone does not make  a shutter sound when it takes a picture

At the Masters, no cell phones allowed anytime, but cameras are OK on practice rounds.

Hopefully he brought a coat hanger.

I don't think it's proper to post these photos online. I'm more than happy to email a few if you like. If anyone is interested in viewing them simply drop me an email with your email address and I send them right out. I scanned a few of Augusta (and my only birdie on 15), a few with Tiger, and one with Kelly Tilghman. The total download will be about 1mb.

At the time we were asked by Tigers people to not post photos on the web, Tiger was in shorts with tennis shoes on and shirt tail out... not what they want the public perception to be. He was a load of fun to be around. I gave him 3 shots per side, he laughed and said "I'm not stupid I take it". At dinner that evening he asked why the shots? I said how many people in this world can say they gave Tiger 3 a side... he just laughed and took my $5.

Sounds like you had a great time.  Of the few experiences I have had with the big name golfers I have also found that they were very approachable and more than happy to shoot the breeze.  What a great way to make a living

I have played with a several PGA touring pros, some of the absolute best times have been playing with some LPGA touring pros. Played in a few funds raisers years ago and those gals were great! The nicest men player was Dave Barr, played with him in the 93 MCI Heritage pro-am (Hilton Head SC), we won the pro-am and he was so appreciative to make a few extra dollars. Life on the tour (unless your top 20, okay maybe top 50) isn't always so easy.

I agree with you on Dave Barr.  The Canadian won the Quad Cities tournament when I was working for Titleist in Iowa.  As a territory sales rep, I worked  the locker room at that tournament every year, then later the Fed Ex tournament in Memphis.  Most of the players were decent guys, but there were a few jerks over the years.
