Didn't want to hijack the other thread any further.
I have the Roomba 870. It gets into corners, goes under furniture (beds, sofa, chairs) and does a great job on pet hair. I have had one for many years now. I am an Amazon Prime customer, but you don't want to buy it from Amazon. You want to buy it from Hammacher-Schlemmer (those guys that advertise in the airline magazines in the seat-back in front of you). Why?
Because HS offers a no-questions-asked LIFETIME GUARANTEE on everything they sell. I have used it 3 times in the past. The last time, they fully refunded my money AFTER 5 YEARS because the model I had was no longer available. I applied that full refund to the purchase of the next generation Roomba (which I bought from HS), and now have the lifetime guarantee on it as well.
One of my earlier Roomba's battery started to fail to hold a charge. At the time that was about a $90 battery. Shipped it back to HS and got a brand new Roomba.
I can't say enough good things about Roomba.
