This year before our trip I put under deck skinning on the 22' toon we take to Canada.  Last year in the rough waters you could feel the surging when the water hit the crossbeams.  It made a noticeable difference.  I used .032 aluminium sheets for the weight and pricing.  I feel that the .032 is not thick enough.  I should have used the .054 material.  The thin material worked but it is not strong enough to stay flat.  It bowed and flexes.  I did the project by myself and the weight and flexibility made it easier but my advice is get a helper and the thicker material.  
 
Impressive piece of video showcasing the surge of water than can hit the bottom of a pontoon.  Really makes me happy to have the waveshield on our new order.  Thanks for posting this video...back in '14 so I could see it in the future in '17.  :)
