Needed more tablespace for cocktail cruises. Thought about the Bennington coffee table that is available to match the upholstery, but that is expensive and takes a while to get. So I thought I'd build something. Found a red and white cooler that would be good to have on the boat. Step 1, Spray painted cooler brown to match table and boat. Step 2, Build a teak table to fit onto cooler. Step 3, Cut cupholders into it and build wooded cups to fit underneath. Step4, Hot-glue some rope around perimeter so stuff doesn't slide off. This one came out so nice, I'm building another one to replace the plastic table in the stern seating.http://

Thank you Evanyj350, I've been trying to figure out where to put a larger Yeti cooler on my boat and you totally helped! I'm going to remove the plastic table, but a teak one like yours and sit it on top of the Yeti. You sir are a genius! Please let us all know how you end up securing the cooler. On my old boat, I had mounts on the floor I could strap my cooler to. I might do the same thing here. Once again, this looks great!
With my little 25hp, 11 mph boat, I don't plan on securing the cooler at all.... Hopefully it won't go too far when the rollers from the Wake Boats come by.... Testing this coming weekend......
Looks good. We have the coffee table option on our boat and LOVE IT! I've also have replaced the kidney shaped table top that is mounted between the captains seat and mid ship seat. Like your top,it's now made of wood. I glued up 1x6 Epay boards and it really looks good.much nicer than the plastic table tops that come on the boat. My only suggestion on yours is to make sure you have some weight in the cooler because it looks like our top may be as heavy or heavier than the cooler base.Any way, you get a thumbs up for solving two issues with one idea. By the way, our coffee table doesn't slide around while we're on the move.
