I'll throw my 2 cents in. Any vehicle can likely tow something, it's all about being able to stop it that's the problem. I have seen far too many people towing trailers much too heavy for their rig fly through intersections because they couldn't stop. Also, any time that whatever you're...
Morning everyone,
We viewed our new boat and everything looked great. I did have one question for the dealer and I'm hoping that maybe someone here can help as well. We opted for the full seagrass flooring as well as the center toon storage locker. In many pictures I have seen online, it...
Just an update that our new boat has arrived at the dealer and we're planning on going to view it and complete the paperwork on Monday. It's nice that the dealer has agreed to store it (inside) as well as deliver it for free when we're ready (200 miles).
We have Farmers/Foremost and so far have not found a policy that is as comprehensive with the rate we pay. They also have a pontoon specific policy that can be customized.
FWIW - We have a Rocna 10 (22lb) on our 31' boat that weighs around 12,000 pounds and have never pulled that anchor out. We have been in storms with winds over 40mph, large swells and wakes and have had no problems. We also sleep in the boat while on the hook and trust the Rocna completely. I...
I agree with the above posters. Not sure what motor you're going with, but the Yamaha VMAX 115 is only about a $1200 upgrade from the 90hp and will give you a pretty nice performance boost.
I have used a plastic cutting board from Walmart or some other box store as a mounting backer for stereo equipment in the past. Much more durable than wood, cheaper than starboard or PVC and holds up just as well. Something to consider.

I think it may have helped that I bought it from Miller Marine in Saint Cloud, MN which is apparently the largest Bennington dealer in the country. I was told they move around 1000 units per year.
But, who knows.
Here is a very recent scenario. Went to the Minneapolis boat show and agreed to purchase with a refundable down payment, but did not agree to specific terms, conditions, or even exact product. Wife and I decided on all of the things that we wanted and informed the dealer. Dealer came back...
Just an update. We did opt for the extended aft deck, in tube storage, and the heavy duty rub rail. We appreciate the feedback and are now awaiting the build date from Bennington.
So, sounds like the consensus is to upgrade the rub rail. Makes sense. Can anyone comment on if the in floor storage, ski hoop, adjustable height helm seat or the extended aft deck is worth the money?
Hey Jack,
Thanks for the feedback. I waffled about the rub rail, the factory rail seems pretty beefy. What is the difference? We all know that it's going to take some abuse, so interested to hear. As far as the batteries and switch, I'm electrically inclined and plan to add those myself. ...
