I have a 2575Q that came with an Echo 100. I bought a 42dv which requires a transducer change...both are 4 pin so I'm thinking piece of cake... Wrong. The old ducer has maybe 2 feet of wire then there is a screw type connection then that wire goes into the hole above the port toon. Under the helm the existing wire will plug into the new unit but I can't use this because the new ducer has 20' of wire with an end that plugs right into the unit. I tried taping the two wires together and pulling the new one with the old one but the tape goes in the toon a few inches and gets hung up. I also doubt the 20' will be enough. Anyone else run into this? Does Garmin make an adapter so I can use existing wire? Has anyone cut and spliced?( I realize Garmin says don't cut it) Has anyone rerouted this wire to the helm? I took some pics but they are too big to post, I can email them to anyone who wants to see them or post them for me.
