Lake Living

One thing about being on the south side of the lake .........

We get only the morning sun as the north side gets hammered all day

During the summer the north shore bakes under the hot sun

On the south there is significantly less sun and much cooler

Of course during the winter we have the snow and higher heating bills I am sure

Here's hoping for ten years minimum

One of the reason I buy new is for longevity

You wont be able to choose sides ( North & South ) on your new boat . :D Sun all day .

LOL

I am a night person the boat will be docked and covered most days

Our Boating time will be from around 7 PM till 1 AM

The lake is great and less active during that time of day

After sunset the entire lake is mandatory no wake

Thats the plan anyway

I will let you know if it works out as planned

If its all no wake when you plan on boating ,you could have gotten the 20 .

Just Kidding .

From 7:30 pm, overnight to 10:30 am our lake is zoned "no wake". Great for peaceful rides, fishing and kayaking. During day is only time high speed boating is allowed. We really don't have much skiing or tubing even during those hours except around holidays, so all day it is usually quiet for those activities anyway.

Ours starts at sunset till dawn

The lake has a different feel from normal day time hours

Living in the wake zone as my kids say is the action center

Plenty of fun and enjoyment with the jet boat

But those late evening cruises are my favorites

Heck, at 4:00 a.m., we'll hear the bass tourney guys out there blowing it out down the river--80 mph + with their Mercury Racing motors.  They run their bass boats all night most Wednesdays and Fridays.

In the middle of the Summer, we love to go out 1/2 mile and float all night listening to music.  If the wind blows us more than 2 miles, we'll start  it up and run back up river.  We can go all night on $5 in gasoline.  It's a good cheap date.

Nice! A VW bus and a Corvair.

Sounds like the perfect night Bamaman

You forgot about the Fiero, unless you are only talking back then. I've had 4 of them ... :-(I'm looking for a Solstice again ..... :)

But keeping it stock this time.

I guess they called it mid engine, because it had a tiny ass trunk in the back, but owning 4 I'd call it rear engine.

We're trying to track down a nice newer beetle convertible.

I like the newest style better than a couple years back. It's not quite as rounded. I think it looks a little better. I remember going on vacation as a kid, 2 adults, 2 kids, with luggage, NO a/c, from Pa to Florida in a 74 Super Beetle ..... Parents would be arrested for child abuse doing that now !!!

We're cheap so looking for a mid to late 2000's I agree though the newest ones look best. Or an old split window and cloth top.

Yes officially a mid engine

The Pontiac Fiero is a mid-engined sports car with hidden headlamps, that was built by the Pontiac division of General Motors from 1984 to 1988. "wiki"

Congratulations on owning four they are sought after by many to this day

I never had one

Big sellers in the day

Sorry guys. My dad had a 78 Ford Courier with a topper 4 speed. Took the back glass out of the truck, the front glass of the topper, put an inflatable boot between. This was in the winter from Iowa to Cali through Colorado. A mattress in the back and sleeping bags. Under the hood he made a place to hold coke bottles to keep them cold (up by the vents).

3 kids, ages 6, 8 and 12 (me) it was freaking FREEZING back there. Poor heater did not have a chance.
