Just bought a 2020 23ssbx tritoon. Lift is setup for 2016 21sx tritoon. How close should the engine be to the rear crossbeam of the lift? Thinking of putting and engine stop bar for easier parking. Thanks

Welcome to forum Fr8flier. If your trailer is properly sized once your boat is winched up to the front stops the motor shouldn't even be close to the crossbar in the back of the trailer.....

It is more about making sure the center pontoon support bar, bunk or cradle is supporting pretty much to the back of the center pontoon to support motor weight. That puts the motor out a foot or so from the bunk or cradle support.

An engine stop bar can full proof it. I had one on my original lift, but I found it was in the way walking around the lift more often than it was actually needed to serve its purpose. Ask my shins how I know! ;)

Once you park and put it up on the lift a few times, you pretty much know where you want it in comparison to dock or canopy supports, etc… Thus, the actual engine stop was never needed by me, other than dinging my shins up a couple times a season.

I have a dock section in the front of my boat, and so I installed a nice thick rubber bumper up in front for easy parking. Didn't want to use the motor stop as it seems a bit rough to smack into the motor with a big bar to stop it - especially if the kids are parking :)
