Hey all, apologies if it's been posted already, but I couldn't find it when I searched.

I still have the 2012 2275 GCW I bought new 13 years ago, and it's time to do some updating. The only thing I can't figure out is how to pull the raised helm off the deck so I replace the carpet with vinyl. My fear is I will have to remove the wave shield- there just isnt a lot of room between the ESP, outer logs and trailer to access it.

Has anyone pulled their boat apart and removed the elevated helm?

I had the raised helm option on a 2011 2275 RCW and while I never removed it, I would have to imagine its through bolted through the decking. So most liklely, you'll have to drill out the rivets and remove the waveshield to access the bolts / nuts.

With a ESP configuration, you might even have to drop a tube? Don't know. Might be worth a call to a local dealer to Bennington directly to see if they have any service information on that type of removal / repair.

That raised helm incorporates the whole seating and console / helm, so it has to be quite beefy in its mounting features to the deck. I can't imagine its just screwed down from the top of the deck.

Keep us posted on what you find out.

All facts. But when I open the under helm compartment, I can’t see anywhere that is wide enough for a nut to receive a bolt from below or any screws from the top. I’m pretty mechanically inclined and this has me stumped. I’m sure I’ll figure it out as I go- I’m just neurotic and like knowing and planning what I’m getting into.

You can call Bennington to find out how they are attached . Their phone number is 888 906 2628. Have your Hull ID when you call.
Good Luck .
