Spent a few days at Smith Mountain lake in Virginia with another forum member, BigD, and his wife and close friends. Beautiful lake, condo, and area! We were cruising the lake on his boat on Sunday and I was actually behind the helm as we drove by a waterfront restaurant and we saw our old Bennington parked on an end slip!!! We sold our boat at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 to a couple from that lake but lost contact with them! Shocked to see it but it was dirty, dingy, and a bit faded! Before and current....IMG_20240827_213543.jpgPXL_20240825_193543014.jpg

Always a mixed bag of emotions when you see your once pride and joy again. Let’s assume it’s scheduled for a deep clean this weekend!

I think it would take several deep cleanings!!! Did you see the black waterline?!?

So very sad! The 2016 I purchased last year was basically abandoned (luckily on a lift) on salt water in south Florida for appox. 2 years. She was left uncovered, open to the elements and critters. I promised her she would never be treated so poorly again!
There ought to be a law…

On the other hand, it looks like the new owners are using and enjoying the boat, so that's a consolation (I hope!). Think of it as well-loved

Yup they're using it all right! My wife keeps telling me....It's not your boat anymore!
