I have a 2020 SX22 and I am now taking over the boat as my husband passed away. I went to start it yesterday and nothing. I may have left something on. I put a battery charger on it but it’s still not charged . Can you tell me which direction are the switches in the off position? Since it’s dead there are no indicator lights. And anything else I should check? Thank you.

Very sorry to hear about your husbands passing. Our condolences. Good for you in starting to utilize the boat yourself. I hope it can be a source of enjoyment for you once you get it back operational again.

First, if there are actual malfunctions happening vs just drained batteries, that boat has a bow to stern 10 year warranty. So something to keep in mind assuming you’re the original owners. You would need to take it to a Bennington authorized dealer to diagnose for, and if it qualified, utilize warranty coverage. Just an FYI really.

Does your battery charger give a battery charge indication? Curious if you KNOW the battery is dead, or just assuming so since you were not getting power to anything? If it told you the battery was dead, and after putting it on the charger it didn’t charge up, then you certainly have a bad battery.

Any chance you can add a picture of your helm set up? There are a couple different ones depending on model and year. That can help narrow down feedback you receive from those with the same set up and type of switches.

Do you have 1 or 2 batteries? Is there a “perko switch” near batteries. Looks like a red dial that is labeled “off, 1, 1+2, 2”. If off, then you wont get any power. Some helms also have a master switch in addition or instead of perko switch. And finally, there are circuit breakers and fuses that can come into play…again all of that’s assuming the batteries are okay.

First thing is to determine battery is in fact the culprit vs simply turning on the right switch(es) or something else electrical.

Here's an example of the switch to look for - it should be in the back of the boat on the port (side door) side. Again, sorry for your loss - and let us know what other questions we can help with.
