Other than the 3 hour haul home when I purchased, I seldom haul my boat anywhere other than the ramp to my house (1/4 mile). Today I pulled the boat to change oil, filter and lower unit oil it dawned on me I have no saftey chain from boat to trailer. I'm basing this on my previous 2012 Premier and I think a Loadrite Trailer which had a safety chain.
Is it normal to solely rely on the nylon wench strap?

That's all I have.

Edit: I strap the bow and stern down, too, but there is no chain in front. Just the winch strap.

For longer hauls we strap the bow down, (that's what the dealer did for delivery, so we do too) and I always strap the stern down when I go any farther than the landing.

I always strap the 4 corners down, even on a little trip to the launch. Just not worth the risk if you hit uneven ground while breaking the main strap. Even two corners would help. Strange stuff can happen and it only takes a minute.
