Winter has arrived in Northern Michigan

You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day

( what is the number anyway ? )

It's funny you mentioned that, just the other day a cloud came up to me yelling derka derka and spit snow at me. Damn Ice-is

Nope. Cold water but no hot downstairs.
The hot water line maybe  lower than the cold water.  We have a situation with the lines running to Jill's vanity that the plumber put a much bigger sag in the hot water line at the transition from above the ceiling to behind the drywall up to the vanity.  Only the hot water line froze. We had to pull the drywall and insulate the hot water line.  Thought we had fixed it until the cold snap in November.  Really sucks that a 3 year old house has pipes that freeze.  I am going to pull drywall and foam the cavity. Thankfully it is PEX or it would have been a huge repair to a finished basement.

The insulation could be the problem by not letting it warm up from the heat from inside the house.

There is only one place in our house where water lines are up against the foundation and I have a little plastic panel in the drywall (6x8 inch) that I remove when it's 10 below or more so room heat can get in there. It's in our laundry room in the basement so the panel is no big deal. If that area was insulated my pipes would freeze for sure.

Let's talk about liquid H2O instead. This isn't a Bennington, but cool none-the-less!

You know GoldenRod just like some of my friends that love and purchase old cars that just isn't a look for me. I like the looks of the newer models over the older models

That's Great Jack, Hope you don't mind as I am going to steal that picture

The Jeep is actually still there. It has a cloaking device. On the way in to work it showed -23.

Hot water has the oxygen reduced in, it thus it will freeze faster than cold water.

Hot water unfroze itself last night and it was colder. Go figure.. Just think how cold it would be without "Global Warming".     :D

The Great Lakes have frozen over totally 2 years in a row. Hey Al Gore who's taking the temp. outside now? Has anyone seen Al lately? Must be trying to find ice in FL. If he can't find ice on the ponds there he'll declare it's still warming up in the Artic.

To be fair, Al Gore is probably jumping up and down saying "I told them so!". It might be freakishly cold and wet in the east, but it is freakishly warm and dry in the west. Some ski resorts have had to close in February due to no snow, most or all of the local ice fishing events have been cancelled, and there have actually already been wildfires kicking up. Not looking good for anyone, really. Although being on the warm end of the weirdness is a bit more comfortable. :)

Agreed bcpnick.  Global warming will also produce more severe storms including the cold and abundant snow we have seen in the Northeast and I fear that it is going to get worse

It looks like we tilted the earth on its axis. The east looks like it's going to turn into the freekin North Pole !!
