Hello everyone,
Like other new members lately have mentioned, I have been a lurker for a while. I'll start at the beginning. Last June my husband and I were talking about boats. We only have ever had the little aluminum fishing boats, but one of our dogs is now a senior and has a hard time getting around and no way he could get into a boat anymore or has for the last couple years. So we thought about a boat that would be easy for him and started looking around at pontoons and deck boats. We liked how the pontoons had more room than deck boats so I started to research the different brands while we looked at them at different dealerships and that is how I found this great forum!! Tons of knowledge here by the way, thanks everyone for that!
We weren't really sure on the floor layout we would like. My husbands daughter is friends with the daughter of one owner at a local dealership and he had a 2013 20 SF with a Merc 60hp Bigfoot with only 60 hours on it. After looking it over and thinking we would mainly do fishing on the pontoon and he did give us a good deal, we bought it and took it home. We don't have a home on a lake, but we are only maybe a quarter mile from our local marina and it just so happened they had a slip opening! It was PERFECT! Only downside is the boat will always be in the water. Well after using it for the summer last year and boy did we use it A LOT! We quickly realized we had just a ton of fun cruising around and did that more than fishing! Over the winter we started looking at floor plans and we both loved the layout of the 2275 GS! We did have a porta potti on the current pontoon, but no way to do anything in "private" if you will. Then last month we saw on our dealers website that he had a 2275 GS in and we went to go look at it in person and make sure it is exactly what we want and then order one this fall and have it next year. Well we got there told him we wanted to see it and look it over and he said, "oh, we don't have it in yet, should have it next month maybe early June at the latest, but because it's not built yet changes could be made!" He had it listed with a custom extended aft deck and custom dual rear doors with a 150hp and we really like the idea of that sooooo as this became kind of a long story (sorry about that lol) we jumped on it and made the other changes we wanted. So the boat specs are as follows:
Panel Color: Midnight Black--Accent Panel: Matador Red--Midnight Black Canvas--Chrome Logos--Double Binimi Top--Pillowtop Diamond Pressed Upholster Upgrade Tuscan Dune with Napa Beige Accent--Bow Gate Seat--Recliner Upgrade Captains Chair (R)--Espresso Teak Rectangular Bow Table--Elevated Helm--Platinum Seagrass Full Flooring--Mercury 150HP motor--Dual Battery--Lifting Strakes--Sea Star Hydraulic--Water Fuel Separator--Underdeck Wave Shield--Lighted cupholders--SS Dock Lights--Heavy Duty Rub Rail--Ski Pylon--Sharkhide Protectant--Custom Extended Aft Deck--Custom Dual Rear Doors.
Now this is only a two toon, didn't go with an SPS or ESP, I wanted the SPS, but hubby argued we didn't need it..... maybe a PADS coming later?? But everything else we agreed upon and did go over a little on the budget. I know it will be worth it though. So we should get our new Bennington lat May or at the latest early June according to our dealer. Looking forward to it!!
