GPS

I never thought of that. So why aren't transducers mounted towards the bow?
Because when you beach at a sandbar or dock you'd rip the transducer off. A properly setup trailer (or lift/etc.) will stop short of the transducer to avoid damage.

You could always mount it on a bar higher than the bottom of toon and adjust keel setting to compensate for the difference.

Where do I find the model number? I bought it used and did not get any manuals.
It would be awesome if I could fit a new GPS in the same spot. I do need the tacker feature that helps me find my way back to the dock.
Take a photo and post here, but typically it’s on the face.

Just remember, you got 20’ of length till you get a depth reading. You might have already grounded it by that time.
Strange year for water level and sand movement on our already shallow lake back in 2020. Certainly experienced this predicament that fall. And mind you, I was a few hundred yards out from shore in a spot that otherwise would have been about 4’ deep, and then a sudden drop off to 8-10’ deep.
