The mysterious handle on my Bennington

Okay, fellow Benny owners....I purchased a 2021 Bennington SVL (the 20 footer) and noticed a handle located near the bottom of the backbench. It sits right behind the Captains chair but is attached to the lower part of the bench seat. What is this handle for??>

Okay on the picture...when I can get to the boat and climb under the cover.

It is just a grab handle for the passenger sitting there. If you made a hard turn they can grab it instead of sliding off the seat.

I've got the exact same boat and It doesn't have the handle at all. You got a bonus, my wife wants one to hold on to in rough water.

Woooops!! I just checked and we DO have the handle. Funny we both hadn't noticed it. Now she can't complain.

I believe you all because that is the correct answer. I just wish they would have wasted the money on a cigar holder....or perhaps another whiskey cup holder....you know, necessary items.
