They are a powerful motivator! Wife said we weren't getting last years boat delivered until I finished the deck, this year it was the bathroom. She knows once the boat comes I'm about as eager to work on the house as company coming over would be.

Andy ,

I can't imagine doing anything other than enjoying the boat with family and friends all summer.

Unfortunately my project may be delayed

Temps this morning and tomorrow morning will be in the mid 30's

High today 56 , not the perfect weather to paint stain deck.

Apply when ambient air and surface temperatures are between

50-90°F (10-32°C) and the relative humidity is less than 85%. Do

not apply if temperatures are expected to drop below 40°F or if

rain or snow is expected within 24 hours.  :(

Purchased the hardware this morning was up at 6AM

Unusual since retirement

This was what I saw while waking

There is something wrong

when the morning temps on May 6th are 35 F

No one's furnace should be running in May.

This is Pittsburgh not Anchorage !

My weekend project, lasting

almost an entire month now,

has been delayed too long due to the weather.

With warmer and hopefully drier days this week it is

time to start the project again.

The Benny is coming soon, I need to be ready.

Temperature in Anchorage is 44 right now...

That's warmer than Petoskey  .We just hit 40 ,frost last night

First coat of white is on,

I need dry conditions for at least 12 hours

24 is better !

Spoke with Dealer confirmed Boat to be here Friday

This is the first coat of white , if the weather holds up I will place a second coat on dock tomorrow.

The cleats and additional piping will be done after second coat, need to get in water to do cleats I believe

Will know more tomorrow.

Quite happy with this RESTORE Product once again.

It covers well and a second coat will be a huge improvement.

While painting the sides I was on the dock in shorts and the Blue was surprisingly comfortable to sit on

Took the shoes off and walking on it was not a problem

Restore is an excellent product.

I have to say .... She Cleaned Up Better Than Expected For Benny !

I Am Proud of Her  :)

Not Done Yet

A lot More To Do Before Friday

Just bolt the cleats with lag bolts and you won't have to get in the water.

I know I voted yellow sides, but the white is sharp looking!

The cleats are made for the bolts to sit inside of them, I wish a lag would work it would be much easier

I am placing another wolmanized 2 x 4 under cleats for more support

Will be doing same to the posts not sure if I will add two or just one post

Want the additional support for dock but don't want to box the dock on for access to boat

I voted Yellow as well my wife voted bright Orange and we were out voted by the kids for the bright white

As long as it sticks out at night I am happy

Adding spot lights to area as well as lighting from boats

Love those summer nights

After a morning filled with rain

Work resumed on My Weekend Project

LED Light Fixture is up giving light to dock, steps and beach area

Second Coat of Restore has been applied after a thorough drying

Surprisingly Lowes doesn't stock 2 inch galvanized pipes!

Picking up pipe @ Home Depot first thing in the morning

The dock fenders with ring shank stainless steel nails, cleats and single post with auger goes in tomorrow

Dealer has called Benny to be here Friday @ noon

Things are coming together

Pics of completed project will be uploaded tomorrow

Your getting close! Can't wait to see pics of it at home

Pittsburgh, almost there, going to be a great weekend for you. What are your expectations for the restore, when do you think you will have to repaint?

I have been following this, since I have a pressure treated deck/porch that I painted (NEVER DO THAT) now it looks like he##. Tried pressure washing but it still looks bad. Need to try a product like the Restore I guess.

The Restore is suppose to last 7 - 10 years

That is what I have been told only time will tell

D Salmon sounds like you are a prime candidate for the RESTORE Product

I am very please with the docks appearance, the texture is difficult to sit or walk bare foot on

Other than that I am happy

Take some pics of your existing deck , take them down to the Big Box Stores and see what they say

I can't imagine the deck looking worse than my dock

Keep in mind Restore has 70+ colors to choose from

Got the right pipe at 630 AM from Home Depot

Today's High Temp will be 84 , water temp is about 68

Too cold for me to get in and the depth is significant

As you may remember I Do Not Swim

Taking Jacks advice on the Lag Bolts for CLEATS

The Carriage Bolts Can't Be Done Without Getting Under Dock

The only need to get in water may be to secure post holder to dock.

Pictures will be posted this evening when completed.

It takes me longer to get things done now days  :)
