Power Bimini fail

My power arm Bimini stopped lifting today, did not break the circuit and didn’t reset after power turn off . What I can hear is a slight buzzing in the switch when we try it but no motors actuating at all up or down. Seems like maybe a simple switch fail. But not sure. Boat is three years old. Never had an issue till today. Thoughts are appreciated. We are stuck in a 3/4 open position.

Take it to your dealer . Thats covered under warranty

The gears stripped out on my actuators a couple weeks ago - waiting on replacements from Bennington. My dealer has been slow as molasses, but it's the end of the season. They're easy to remove and swap - takes about 15 minutes to remove both.

Your description sounds like a wiring issue though - if you can't hear the motors running the actuators aren't getting power. You can also test by removing one (or both) and using a test light at the connector.

Good luck!

I would love to see one of these displayed in the working position. Very interesting, was unaware they even had these!

The Bennington electric bimini is framed slightly differently than in the above video. Here’s what the Bennington one looks like.

Radar Position:

Stowed Down:

Deployed fully: (only 2 pictures I have of it deployed in 8 years of ownership. We don’t open it up very often, and apparently take pictures of it opened up even less).
